I couldn't think of an original title.

My return to this blog, as you've maybe noticed, hasn't been very sucessful. I know it always seems to be excuses, excuses, excuses with me, but honestly, I underestimated this year. I'm doing five highers (which for you english folk, if any, are difficult exams you do near the end of your school life and 5 is the max. you are allowed to take.) And okay, I knew it would be a hard year, but jeeez.
I've already had to start studying for my final exams, which are in May. So every night I'm doing 2 hours of revision plus any homework, reading or essays I have to do. So basically, until about the second week of June, I have no life! So sorry.

As any British people will know, today is Red Nose Day. (If you're American and don't know what this is go look it up, but really, where've you been?).
So, as schools always do for chairty things, a 4th year 'soc and voc' class were told to organise a fundraising activity where people request songs, paying 50p each time, and then the top ten requested songs are played down the school tanoy system at the end of the week.
Bad Idea.
I've just had to endure 45 minutes of a playlist consisting of 'Taylor swift', 'Lady GaGa', 'Rihanna', 'Akon' and a load of other shitty, so-called "music" that was completely unescapable. The rest of the songs were all dance songs that all sounded the same - I didn't appreciate it. But the last straw was when a dance song started playing and I recognised the lyrics... I kept listening, and finally figured out what it was a re-mix of.
A FUCKING DANCE REMIX OF A YELLOWCARD SONG!!
I hate modern music. These kids don't know what music is.
I wish i had been born in the 40's when awesome people like Chuck berry were about. Then at least I'd be dying just now and I wouldn't have to see music detiorate and loose its dignity so much.

Anyway, have a good weekend and I'll blog at the next chance I get.

I'm not keen on a lot of contemporary music, but I'm also not keen on Chuck Berry, as blasphemous as that is. If you play the first 5 seconds of each song on The Great 28 you'll notice that they're pretty much all the same but maybe in different keys. For example, Maybeline/Johnny B. Goode/Roll Over Beethoven. Yeah he revolutionized rock n roll, but it's not stood up to the test of time to my ears =p
What about for us non-English people, why don't we get to know about highers? =P Good luck!
