Ok, I know, I know, I haven't written a blog since Julius Ceaser was about hugging people (or whatever he did), but I've been busy ok! I have a life outside the internet
"no you don't Melody, LIES"
Shut up inner-Melody, i do too.
So, since my last blog-athon I guess a few things have happened.
Firstly, me and my colab-blog-buddie JoJo (link over there >>>) are going Edinburgh :].
It's supposed to be a school trip thing to go and visit the Scottish parliament and so on, but we're staying the night, get a bit of free time (ahem stalking time JoJo!) to wonder about ye olde capital and we're going to see Mary Poppins at the theatre, yuss we're so incredibly awesome.
Anyway, that's a big "lookin- forward-to-type-eventful-watsit-called-thing". And for that added sprinkle of immenseness it's the day after we see The Feeling. Ohyayohyayohyay.
And, a week before I see Feeder, even better :]
Appearance-wise there's a bit of a change too. I dyed my hair, myself, for the first time :]. It's purple. Well, not purple exactly, or red or brown, but..plum. I like it. Although, I dare say it's a tad patchy in parts, meh.
Went to a gig the other night as well. It was in a local hotel, really small and personal but really decent, half popular bands playing. The "headliners" ,if you will, were Twin Atlantic and The Xcerts, which you've probably never heard of in your poncy little life (don't hate me, i'm kidding) but I'll throw some links to their myspace's at the end of this blog so you can worship them with me. Although, to be frank (whoever he is), I think they're so much better live than their recorded stuff because they get the crowd going so much.
Now answer me this. At gigs, why does it seem to be a rule that girls can not go as mental as guys? You never seem to see girls in mosh pits, jumping about half as much and all that jazz. Why do they feel they have to restrain?
I don't :]
Twin Atlantic mosh pits are as good as they come and I was right there in the middle of it, surrounded by guys, the only girl (bar Joanne), and every single girl in the place was standing bobbing their heads like penguins. What is zee point, I ask you?
Anyway, all that craziness, moshing, hanging out with band members and jumping like a loon on loon tablets left me with a headache, sore feet (why?!), an almost broken rib, a complete exhaustion the next day and a crippled boyfriend, after he got his leg wrecked in the pit.
Although, it was definately worth it. :]
So, I guess that's all the main "bulletins" in the life of Melody (HellYeah).
I've got a new youtube video on the go and I plan on doing one after I post this blog and click that little red cross in the sky (well...the sky of my computer screen...)
Until next time my lovelies,
God bless all who sail in you... and all that
Melody. HellYeah xo

Oh. I am so excited. Plus I have goss from the day half related to this blog.
And I agree when we were in the mosh pit, we were getting funny looks aswell, and I think it's 'cause then the guys can't be as rough...blah blah.
Oh and your links are poop. You need http://www. on front!
Love from JoJo xxx
I don't know how your mosh pits run in Scotland, but in the states there are several reasons for girls to avoid the pits. One, they get extremely violent. There's always at least one steroid-filled skin head running about punching and kicking and bloody noses abound. Second, groping and sexual harassment. There's a lot of misogyny and girls in the pit (or even crowd surfing) are taken as fair game for copping a feel. Third, it does make it a bit awkward for the guys who don't want to harass the girls, running into girls gets them all red faced. Glad you had fun though!
Ohh beleive me Andrew, the mosh pits in Scotland are like that too, but I love it! beleive me, the number of times I've been hurt or been given a nose bleed from them, I'm used to it!
The sexual harassment thing, yeah, i get your point, but that doesn't affect me. Last knobwho grabbed my ass got a pretty hard slap, so it's all good. you just have to stand up for yourself :]
Meh, that's their problem. They should just learn that i don't care!
